FATWA
I.V. while fasting.
Q. What is the shariah ruling regarding an I.V. while fasting, does it break the fast?
A. No, an I.V. does not break the fast. The reason being that an I.V. is a type of injection which is placed into the vein. That which breaks the fast is the entering of anything through a natural and direct, passage to the brains or stomach.
Something placed in the veins or bloodstream is not a direct passage, therefore injections in general and also in I.V. would not break the fast.

And Allah knows best.
