Power of Choice
By Aalimah Amina Hosein

When Allah created us, He granted us the great favour and niamat of knowledge and along with this knowledge, He granted us the ability to make choices in each day of our lives, in each and every aspect, so that we can make proper decisions and choose our paths wisely.
From the beginning of creation Allah has sent Prophets as a means of guidance to mankind, bringing them glad tidings and also warning us. They showed us by way of their examples, the proper and correct choices to make.
The final Prophet that came was our beloved Rasool (SAW) and we have been granted the honour and privilege to be from amongst his Ummah, the Ummah of the most beloved of Allah's creation and the most flawless of examples, past, present and future.
Allah Ta'aala says concerning him: "There is certainly for you in Rasulullah a perfect example." (Surah Ahzaab - Vs 21)
Such honour Allah Ta'aala has bestowed on us that He not only sent an example for you and I but He sent a flawless example in that of our Rasool (SAW).
So Allah placed Rasool (SAW) on this earth to show us how to live, amongst His creation. He was sent and still is a living example for each and every one of us, for each and every day.
Allah Ta'aala also sent with Rasool (SAW), the consequences of our actions, decisions and choices. So all that is left for us to do, is to act upon the example and practice of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
So how do we act?
It is upon us you and I, to make the right choices on our lives. We can choose to please shaitaan, the enemy of Allah and an open enemy to us and pave our way towards ruin and towards the hellfire. Or we can choose the pleasures of our Allah beloved and forgiving creator and achieve the promise of salvation which He gives to His obedient servants and to dwell in Jannat beneath which rivers flow. We can choose to reside in eternal bliss.
Allah says: "Pleasure from Allah is the greatest and that is the greatest success." (Surah Taubah - Vs 82)
The pleasures of this world and it's comfort shall end one day, but bliss from Allah is eternal and everlasting.
May Allah guide you and I towards His path and towards eternal bliss. Ameen.
